First Week at Home

The first week with a newborn is always a blur. A lot of hanging out, nursing, naps, eating and visitors.

Our new ward was so quick to jump in and serve us with meals, which I was SUPER grateful for. Brooklynn and Maylee are luckily pretty mellow and content to hang out in doors all day so that made the transition to a new baby pretty easy. We watched a lot of movies and held that snuggly Lyla as much as we could :)

My Mom was called to be the new Relief Society President in her ward the week before I had Lyla, so she was pretty swamped during her spring break to get things organized, but she still made time to come and hang out with us! I really just wanted company so I was glad she came down.

My sister Shayna also came down with her one night.

Pauls mother came one day too and did some cooking and grocery shopping for us which I was grateful for.

And lastly, we had one night with Uncle Joshie (no pics :( )

I mostly just enjoyed watching Brooklynn and Maylee interact with Lyla.

My heart was overwhelmed with love and my emotions and hormones were at an all time high!

Treasured that first week but happy we are passed it :)

Lyla, just like my other 2, naturally adapted to a 3 hour feeding schedule and nurses like a champ.

This time around I changed up my style of nursing a bit and only do one side at a time and I LOVE it!

She usually is done eating within 20 minutes and completely drains me and is happy and full.

She spits up A TON just like the other two but we are doing better now- 6.5 weeks later :)

 Aunt Cassie made these ADORABLE matching pj's for the girls. We called them their Easter jammies since they wore them for the first time on Easter Eve. 

Lyla's shirt says, "small", maylee's says, "medium", and Brooklynn's says, "large"... in abbreviation of course.

We loved these jammies and LOVE our Aunt Cassie!

 If you know my Brooklynn then you know this picture just captures the essence of who she is.

Her personality fits the big sister, motherly role to a "T".

Just sweet and tender hearted.

How did I get so blessed!?!

 She has to hold Lyla at least once a day.

She just loves it.

 So that first week this is pretty much what the girls looked like ALL the time.

Snuggled up together, messy hair, and dress up dresses :)

 Maylee has really grown up in the last 6 months and has become such a great playmate for Brooklynn- which I have been especially grateful for since our move and B not having her preschool friends or cousins around as much.

 Eat, SLEEP, and poop is what this little one does.

 Newborns eyes are rarely open so every time Lyla would open her eyes- and still to this day- Maylee gets so excited and yells, "Opened her eyes!"

We LOVED having her, and as usual, we were SO SAD when she left to head back home- even though it is only an hour away.

 We took Lyla to her first DISNEYLAND trip at 10 days old.

It was actually a success.

She looked like this all day!

These two are the best of friends these days.

They play well and fight just as well too :)
