Maybe its just me but family pictures always seem like a nightmare. There is so much pressure to find the right outfits and right background and have happy, non-tired, non- hungry kids (and husband for that matter), find an affordable photographer (i know so many AMAZING photographers but I just can't spend several hundred dollars... unfortunately), the right lighting/time of day, and then waiting to see if all 5 of us smiled in the same one. Then you have to get them all printed off and mailed to ever family member... It's just a lot, but it HAS to be done right!? I try to do them like every 6 months but at least once a year for sure!
This last year (right before Christmas) we had to keep pushing back our picture date because of illness! And Paul could only squeeze in a half hour away from work- so we ran with it. I'm still working on getting them printed off and sent to all our family members. But we are happy with the results and these gems are framed in our entry room gallery wall. Thanks to Britt Walker who was so patient with us (especially with us constantly rescheduling) and then getting us the final product so quickly!
We love them! Sometimes I still look at photos and can't believe these three beautiful girls are mine and that I am old enough to have 3 kids! Feels like just yesterday Paul and I were dating- now we have this family- it's crazy! Can't believe how fast time is flying... Brooklynn will be in Kindergarden this fall, Maylee in preschool and Lyla is almost 1! Most days I long for the days when these girlies of mine are a little older and a little more independent, but I love the days when I relish in just the moment. "Let them be little... for they're only that way for awhile."
Our Giddings Gang December 2012:
Those Lyla cheeks get kissed all day long... we (I) just can't help ourselves.
I die. Could she be any cuter?
